“Egwu nkwa ndi Igbo” is the beautiful music played by the Igbo people who are indigenous to the southern part of Nigeria. They traditionally rely on musical instruments like the drums and gong to provide a diverse array of acoustic sounds and tempo, and this splendid velvet painting showcases the joy and splendour of Igbo music.

The Oil on Velvet painting captures the magic of Ibo drummers as they stroke the drums popularly as the “Udu”, the “Ogene” which is a special type of metal gong, and a musical wood block while being entranced by the tempo of the music.

The painting is an original and unique artwork made using the velvet material by a local Nigerian artist simply known as Uzor, and his name is imprinted on the lower right hand corner of his work.

This beautiful velvet painting is a wonderful artwork and is ideal addition when it comes to home or office décor.
